Fuel Costs
Fuel costs have been rising at a sharp rate over the last few years. Scooters and small motorcycles have exceptional fuel consumption figures which easily embarrass even the most frugal of cars. Sukida and Skygo bikes can return figures of up to 150 miles per gallon!
Please see below for some more information on petrol pricing in the UK to see for yourself how economical a bike from The Internet Bikeshop could be!
Parking
We all know, parking in todays world is a nightmare, stories of garages selling for £45,000 in central London are not uncommon and as for daily parking rates up and down the country, well they sometimes verge on the extortionate. Most local councils look favourably on mopeds, scooters and motorcycles and impose little or no charge for our 2 wheel friends. A couple of hours worth of parking in some car parks could be a weeks worth of petrol in one of our bikes!! Car parks are expensive, crammed and you take so long to park sometimes, it begs the question – is this worth it? Just imagine, riding into work and parking up before your boss gets in to work in his or her car!
Congestion – charges and journey times and the environment
Congestion is a sad and dark area of our cities and towns. The government has introduced the unpopular congestion charge in London and is likely to launch similar schemes in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Oxford, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh to name just a few. Scooters and motorcycles are exempt from congestion charging – because they dont cause conjestion and keep traffic moving. Journey times in cars and on public transport can be halved by riding one of our bikes! And think of mother nature, with all the smog and pollution produced by our cars and trains – give back to the environment and ride something that helps it survive by significantly reducing carbon emissions!
Scooters are exempt from London's Congestion Charge. The charge for non- exempt vehicles is currently £8 and the zone of charging is to be extended outwards in the near future.
Driving your car into London everyday could be costing over £2000 per annum in Congestion Charge alone.
The Mayor of London's office have confirmed that there are no plans to charge scooters for entering the Congestion Charging Zone in London. Please see report in our press page.
£8 per day every weekday for just one year, more than covers the cost of a 50cc scooter and some of our 125cc scooters.

General Costs
The general costs of running cars and the escalating prices of our failing public transport system are even more reasons to get on two wheels! Insurance, petrol, road tax for cars are at an all time high – for short journeys and the commute to work, ask yourself – its it worth the money you spend? Our bikes and scooters are all very cheap to run, most of our bikes have a £15 charge for a years road tax, this is upto 10 times less than some cars! A yearly ticket from Ealing, West London into Paddington is £1260. Buying a bike from The Internet Bikeshop is can be anywhere from 30-60% less, but you own the bike for life and you can still use it for pleasure!
