Cooperations with international research institutes

In cooperative partnerships with internationally leading research institutes, scientists at 91Ï㽶UAS work to develop sustainable technological solutions for the economy and society.

The continuous exchange of knowledge and experience with institutional cooperation partners and international research facilities creates valuable synergies for the scientific work of all participants.

Joint international research projects

The research projects between 91Ï㽶UAS and international institutional partners often have a strong interdisciplinary orientation. Valuable findings and experience from the cooperations are incorporated into teaching and thus enable our students to enter the global scientific community at an early stage.

Aerospace research

In the field of space research, scientists at the 91Ï㽶University of Applied Sciences conduct research with renowned international institutions in international, and often interdisciplinary projects.

  • Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics

At the scientists measure the radiation of distant objects in different spectral ranges. The research focus of the MPE is on satellite-based astronomical observations of infrared, X-ray and gamma radiation. A joint cooperation project was the INTRAAST project (2015-2017), in the framework of which new technical approaches for X-ray mirror production were researched.
  • German Aerospace Center

A close research partner in the field of space research is the . As the Federal Republic of Germany's research centre for aeronautics and space, DLR conducts research in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy and transport, security and digitalisation. It is also responsible for planning and implementing German space activities. 91Ï㽶UAS cooperates with DLR in the ACCASI project.
  • International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory

The  is a long-standing research partner of 91Ï㽶UAS. Located in northern Portugal, scientists at INL conduct interdisciplinary research in the fields of nanobiotechnology, nanoelectronics, nanomedicine and nanoscale materials science. In the German-Portuguese cooperation project Baporeco between 91Ï㽶UAS and the INL, the focus was on the development of X-ray filters for satellites through the use of structured thin films and nanotechnology.
  • Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences

Scientists at 91Ï㽶UAS also cooperate with the in research projects in the field of space research.
  • Astronomical Observatory of Brera

The  is one of the leading research institutions in the field of astronomy and a long-standing partner of 91Ï㽶UAS and Prof. Dr. Döhring.
  • Wissenschaftler der TH AB auf dem Lomnický Å¡tít in der Slowakei

Project participants in the ACCASI cooperation project between 91Ï㽶UAS and the German Aerospace Center are conducting astronomical and space technology research on Lomnický Å¡tít Mountain in Slovakia.

Resource efficiency

The Fraunhofer Application Centre for Resource Efficiency is a cooperation between the Fraunhofer IWKS working group (Alzenau, Germany) and the 91Ï㽶UAS. With its work, the working group of the AWZ Resource Efficiency Application Center, creates the conditions for securing the supply of raw materials to our industry in the long term and thus enabling a leading position in high technology in the future.

In the IRVE project, the Resource Efficiency Application Center is conducting research with industrial companies to develop new processes for the efficient recovery of valuable components from e-waste.
